Community Champions Program

For the past 20 years the company has been heavily focused on giving back to the community in the area of Education. Programs like Cable in the Classroom and Star Teacher Awards have been closely linked with company’s image in the community. Additionally, within each Bright House division there are additional focus areas which reflect the priorities of each local community.

Every year, Bright House Networks provides a significant amount of resources to local communities in the form of cash and in-kind. In addition to our treasure, the company also provides opportunities for employees to give their time and talent. A significant amount of our management level employees serve on boards of community organization, either on behalf of the company or because of their own passion and commitment to that cause, or volunteer for company sponsored volunteer opportunities with partner organizations. Through the Community Champions Program Bright House Networks is helping strengthen employee involvement in the community.

The Bright House Networks Community Champions program is geared specifically at providing employees training on how to be an effective and contributing board member. The overall goal of this program is to train and inspire management level employees to take leadership roles in nonprofit organizations that are within the company’s established focus areas.

Bright House Networks understands that serving on a nonprofit board is no simple task. There are a lot of challenges our community organizations face on a daily basis. We are pleased to begin working with the Rollins College Center for Philanthropy and the Tampa Bay Center for Philanthropy to offer a customized training program to employees serving on boards. Employees will serve on boards of nonprofits related to issues they personally care about, and are also encouraged to serve on boards within the following focus areas where the company provides support in the community:
