STAR TEACHERS HONORED IN NEW YORK CITY WITH NATALIE MORALES

ORLANDO – (June 21, 2006) – On Monday, June 5th, 21 of the most creative and innovative teachers were recognized for their commitment to education through Cable in the Classroom. Natalie Morales, anchor and correspondent of NBC and special guest of the 2006 Star Teacher Awards gala, honored the awardees by speaking about her favorite teachers and the importance of education. The Star Teacher Awards gala was held at the Remi Restaurant in New York City.

The Star Teacher Awards is a program that recognizes and rewards educators who use Cable in the Classroom programming as a resource for enhancing the learning experience. The winning teachers received a Crystal Star trophy, a trip to New York City and a share of the $10,000 cash prize.

Lead Sponsorship of the 2005-2006 Bright House Networks Star Teacher Awards program was provided this year by NBC Universal. Other Star Teacher Awards Sponsors included: OVATION – The Arts Network, Univision Television Group, A&E Television Networks, Discovery Networks, Scientific-Atlanta, The Weather Channel, HBO, Scripps Network, The Hallmark Channel and Nickelodeon.
