Bright House Networks Extends New Community Outreach Program That Makes Life Easier For Deserving Families

(Orlando, FL, August 25, 2006) --Bright House Networks today delivered a new High Definition television to a family who lives in its Central Florida Division service area. The presentation was the second in the company’s year-long community outreach program entitled Making Life Easier. The Making Life Easier program, which was created to reward or provide help to one deserving family or individual each month by giving them a free HDTV and a one-year subscription to Bright House Networks services, launched July 25, 2006 in the company’s Tampa Bay Division. A 20-year old college student who helped a severely wounded Tampa police officer was the program’s first recipient.

“Our brand promise is about making life easier,” said John Rigsby, president of Bright House Networks Florida Group. “The families and individuals who are awarded the Making Life Easier package need a helping hand and we’re happy to be able to assist them.”

With the help of local charities, military installations or emergency service organizations, one family or individual each month, living within the Bright House Networks’ Florida footprint, will receive the Making Life Easier gift pack. The company’s Florida service area includes nine counties in the Central Florida area and seven counties in the Tampa Bay area.

Bright House Networks teamed with The Mustard Seed of Central Florida and selected Eric and Alice Johnson as the August recipients. The Johnson’s three-year-old son, Xander, suffers from a rare genetic condition which has caused him to develop extreme obesity at a young age. At age three, he weighs 100 pounds. Since receiving the devastating diagnosis two years ago, the family has faced many unforeseen obstacles, including mounting medical bills that caused such a financial strain, they lost their home and until recently were living in a motel.

To help simplify their lives, Bright House Networks delivered to the Johnsons a free, 32-inch HDTV, a one-year subscription to Bright House Networks HD Pak, Digital Phone, Digital Cable and high speed Internet.

Bright House Networks Making Life Easier outreach will continue into 2007.
